Eight reasons to visit Slovakia.
1. Slovakia is the Central European country, which is bordered on the west
by Czech Republic and Austria, on the east by Ukraine, on the south by Hungary.
In spite of 70 years union with Czech Republic, Slovakia formed its special
image in culture and policy. The culture of Slovakia is rich and full of folk
traditions.
2. Slovakia created the best conditions for skiing in the east of Europe.
There are two main mountains — the Low and High Tatras.
3. Slovakia has more than one thousand three hundred mineral medical
springs. That's why Slovakia has the status of international healing resorts,
where people can treat such diseases as musculoskeletal system, digestive
system, allergic diseases etc. The most famous resorts are Piestany, Rajecke Teplice
Smrdaky, Bardejovske.
4. Caves. The conservation area, which is famous for 3 caves occupied the
territory of three thousand square km. Ohtinskaya is a unique aragonite cave,
which is popular among tourists.
5. During the summer period tourists from all over the world are attracted
by ponds, crystal clear rivers and beautiful waterfalls. There are more than
two hundred tourists’ centers in the Slovak Republic. You may be able to cross
over the Tatras mountains by plane, have a wonderful horseback trip, take
catamarans rafting or climb the mountain.
6. Culture. Besides the beautiful nature, Slovakia is rich in historical
monuments. Forts and castles are scattered across the country. The most famous
are the Trencin Castle, the Bratislava Castle and the ruins of Devin.
7. Gastronomy. Slovak cuisine was formed under the influence of neighboring
countries. Spices are widely used in Slovakian cuisine, which make it closer to
the Hungarian one. Meat dishes and stuffed trout and carp baked with cheese are
very popular here. You should try “Longoshe donuts”. This traditional dish
consists of donuts with butter and garlic.
8. Good possibility for money saving. There are no pan-European costs in
Slovakia, and at the same time all western tourist centers are close to this
country: a few hours by car and you are in Austria, Germany, Czech Republic and
Hungary.
