Districts and Sightseeing in Paris.
There are 20 districts in Paris, their numbers start from Louvre and go spirally clockwise.
From the sixteenth to the twentieth districts.
The sixteenth district – Passy (XVIe arrondissement, Passy), is located in the southwest of Paris, on the right bank of the Seine, is famous for its Bois de Boulogne (Bois de Boulogne) within its territory. Bois de Boulogne – is the former royal hunting ground, which now turned into one of the largest parks in the world. Tourists with children is worth to visit Jardin d'Acclimatation Park, which is located in the north part of the Bois de Boulogne, with a lot of attractions, Zoo, Museum of Science «Èksploradom» (Exploradome), http://www.exploradome.fr/ and the Museum in the grass (the Musée en Herbe), the Museum of world art for children, http://www.musee-en-herbe.com/.

There are a lot of embassies, chic shops & expensive restaurants in this district. It is a favorite place for the most
famous people of the city. The main points of interest is – Palais de Chaillot (Palais de Chaillot); museums as:
- the National Museum of French monuments (Musée national des Monuments Français), one of the most famous museums of France with a rich collection of medieval architecture, address: 1 Place du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre;

Geographically to the
16th district, La Defense Region is a
part of this region, which is the business district of the city, also called
«Manhattan" of Paris, better known as 21 arrondissement of Paris, built in
1957 at the initiative of President Charles de Gaulle. In its infrastructure
included such complexes as: CNIT (National Centre for Industry and Technology),
Areva, Manhattan, Gan, FIAT, Esso, Nobel, Aquitaine, Europe, Aurore, Granite
and T1, the largest European mall "Les
Quatres Temps". During François Mitterrand's Presidency, the Grande Arch was built, which stands on
the same axis with the Triumphal Arch
at the Charles-de-Gaulle Square and the Arc de Triomphe de Carrousel in
front of the Louvre Museum. Among the attractions here you may find: the Church
and the monument to the soldiers of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870, La Défense

Despite
the fact that the sixteenth district was not a central location, and is
situated quite far from the main Parisian attractions: the Champs-Elysées, Arc
de Triomphe, and the Eiffel Tower. The great advantage if you live in this
district is that here is place de l ' Étoile (Place de l'etoile, paris), a
major road intersections, from where you can reach the world-famous amusement

The seventeenth district – Batignolles-Monceau
(XVIII arrondissement, Batignolles-Monceau), was annexed to Paris after 1860.
There are many elegant buildings, but without much interest. This district is
visited by only those visitors who wish to see the everyday life in Paris. The
main attractions are: the Congress Palace (Palais des Congres, place de la
Porte Maillot), where you can get on a good exhibition; National Museum of art
of Jean-Jacques Ènnera, (Musée National Jean-Jacques Henner) http://www.musee-henner.fr/en/home;
wonderful parks, which gave the name to the district – Clichy-Batignolles (Parc
Clichy-Batignolles) and Monceau (Parc Monceau).

The
eighteenth district – Montmartre (XVIIIe
arrondissement, Butte-Montmartre), the most northern part of the city. With a
small Roman settlement on the Hill of Montmartre (Mars Hill), began the history
of Paris. One of the most recognizable symbols of this district is the

dedicated to the French writer Marcel Ajmè and his famous character from the

The twentieth district – Ménilmontant, is bedroom old suburbs of Belleville, Ménilmontant and Sharon, which are located on the hills. This district is absolutely not a tourist destination, the only, which may attract you are: the picturesque quarters of Chinatown and many shops with very reasonable prices.
