Bohemian crystal.

Bohemian crystal is considered to be the card of Czech Republic. Archaeological evidences testified the existence of glass-blowing in the Czech Republic since the IX century. Czech glass was popular in the XVII century and dominated the European market of chandeliers. Pure, colorless glass called «Bohemian crystal», produced at that time in Bohemia - perfect in their properties for cutting and engraving - had no equal in the market crystal glass. In 1724, the master of cut glass Joseph Palma was decorated with the royal order for producing chandeliers. The first chandelier production was discovered in a small village near the town of Prahen Kamenický Šenov in Northern Bohemia. These crystal chandeliers dominated in Europe until the middle of the XVIII century and greatly determine the evolution and future style of chandeliers in the world.

Czech crystal chandeliers were very popular in the aristocracy of that time. Perfect, original chandeliers Palme decorated the palaces of French King Loui XV, the Austrian Empress Maria Theresa and the Russian Tzarina Elizabeth. Bohemian crystal is always pleasant in your eyes, it will bring the luxury and beauty to your home. Czech crystal chandeliers illuminate the La Scala in Milan, the Royal Opera House in Rome, Versailles, Museum in St. Petersburg and the residence of King Ibn Saud in Riyadh. Bohemian crystal in Prague is offered in large quantities in Parizska and around the same old square where the Museum of Czech crystal is situated. At the museum there is a shop where you can order a chandelier according to your own design.
